Because “Jackass” star Ryan Dunn drove his Porsche off the road and died in a fiery explosion, G4 is pulling his show “Proving Ground” from its schedule. In a related story, Dunn was in a G4 show called “Proving Ground.”
But now, the rest of Ground — a show which tested out wild video game and movie stunts in the real world, a perfect fit for the always-game Dunn — may not see the light of day.
G4 tells EW that as of June 20, “the show is off the schedule … until we discuss next steps.” (It premiered last week.)
“Proving Ground” has nine episodes in the can and only got 31,000 viewers for its premiere, so G4’s decision to pull the show is respectful and sensible. They can get way more viewers if they move it to primetime and run it as part of a memorial special.
