Yep, Still Excited for ‘Breaking Bad’

Here’s a solid little featurette for Season 4 of “Breaking Bad” (debuting July 17th in case you haven’t already marked your calendar) that’s mostly comprised of Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul talking about their roles (intercut with some of the more memorable scenes from previous seasons). Watching it did not make me less excited for the new season.

Also, since this afternoon is a little slow, I thought I’d highlight a couple of key quotes about “Breaking Bad” from the Newsweek article on I linked to this morning. Apparently Walter White sinks into darker territory than ever before:

From what I saw on set, I can say this much for sure: by the end of season four, there won’t be many viewers left who sympathize with Walt. The riveting thing was being there as Gilligan’s team struggled to do what few (if any) television shows have ever done before: keep us watching, regardless.

And we’ll also be treated to one of the show’s hallmark twists in the very first episode:

So enjoy [Walt’s] metamorphosis while it lasts—not that it’s Breaking Bad’s only virtue. The show’s whiplash plot twists never disappoint; there’s one in the premiere that will have fans swooning for weeks.

Oh man oh man oh man. I can’t even make up a good guess as to what it might be, but I’m already nervous and ready for my mind to be blown. I bet it has something to do with Mexicans, though. All the good plot twists have Mexicans.
