Colin Hanks in 'Dexter': Still Creepy

Embedded below is a behind-the-scenes featurette on the coming season of “Dexter,” which is going to have heavy religious themes: Jesus tattoos, discussion about God, and new additions Edward James Olmos and Colin Hanks as a pockmarked professor of religion and his creepy-faced student. Frankly, I think the religion angle is tired and lame, but I’m also predisposed to negativity about “Dexter,” so take my air-wanking with a grain of salt.

The real story here is Colin Hanks’s disturbing mug. He’s repulsive, and yet he looks so similar to his father, who’s an actor we all love. He’s like a CGI version of his dad — like the animators got so close to replicating Tom Hanks that the resulting offspring is in the Uncanny Valley. Season 6 of “Dexter” might be worth watching just to see Colin Hanks stabbed to death.
