An All-‘Simpsons’ Channel? Woo-hoo!

Because I’m a lazy person who watched “The Simpsons” throughout college instead of developing good work habits, I’m a little late getting to this story, but it still warrants attention: Fox’s parent company News Corp. is considering creating a channel that would air nothing but “Simpsons” episodes.

The company’s chief operating officer Chase Carey hinted at the idea at an entertainment conference last week. According to the Los Angeles Times, Carey noted that News Corp. has had “a number of meetings” to figure out how best to continue profiting from their Simpsons library. He brought up the thought of an all-Simpsons channel, saying it wasn’t a lock. […]

“[T]his is a unique franchise…and it provides us a unique opportunity to do some interesting things with it,” Carey vaguely mentioned days later in New York, leaving the door open to much speculation. […] “We think there is a bigger opportunity than just a second syndication cycle,” he said. “We have an opportunity to do something truly unique.” [NewsFeed]

Hell yes this should happen. That ish would be on 24/7 in my house. You know how a lot of people and businesses just have Fox News or CNN on all day long? That would be me with the “The Simpsons”  — there would be a lot of low-volume “D’oh!” and “Woo-hoo” until I shushed everybody and turned the volume up for a good episode. “Quiet, everybody! We’re missing the cook-off!”
