What’s on Tonight: Children’s Hospital

Children’s Hospital (Cartoon Network) — Season finale. I don’t give this show nearly enough credit for being one of the sharpest TV satires in recent history — I completely ignored last week’s “Party Down” reunion, and for that I am sorry. I won’t let something like that slip by again, until I do.

The Rising: Rebuilding Ground Zero (Discovery) — Parts 4 through 6 of the Spielberg-produced documentary. I’m sure Damon Lindelof loves it.

Louie (FX) — Like everyone else, I thought that last week’s Afghanistan episode was brilliantly written and beautifully shot — I just wish that I hadn’t been so aware of the fact that it wasn’t shot in Afghanistan. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t expect a show with “Louie’s” tiny budget to pull that off, I’m just saying that there’s no way to make Texas and California as sh*tty-looking as Afghanistan. I’ve been to almost every backwater meth-making hellhole in inland California, and it’s still Club Med by comparison.

Ugly Americans (Comedy Central) — Season finale. Oh wow, I don’t think I’ve thought about this show once since the season premiere. I’m okay with that.

College Football: UNLV at Wisconsin (ESPN) — A lot of factors have contributed to me not being a big college football fan. I had a nomadic childhood, I missed out on tailgating because I was part of the ROTC color guard at Northwestern home games, and I refuse to wear purple. But mostly, I just hate marching bands.
