Judge Judy Drives Woman to Violence. Only in Florida

If you’re a 62-year-old lady hanging out in your living room watching “Judge Judy,” and the judge says something that upsets you, the natural reaction — OBVIOUSLY — is to bludgeon the old man sitting next to you in the head, right?

Janet Knowles, of Jupiter, was arrested on a charge of aggravated battery using a deadly weapon. Jupiter Police responded to the defendant’s house around 11:30 a.m. … When police arrived, they interviewed the alleged victim … The victim told police he was watching “Judge Judy” on television while sitting on his recliner, when Knowles got “upset with Judge Judy,” the affidavit says. Knowles then hit him in the head with a hammer and the victim received a “large cut” to his head and left forearm.

I have so many unanswered questions, like why did the woman have a hammer while she was watching “Judge Judy,” what was her relationship with the older gentleman, and what was it that Judge Judy said that provoked the violence? But the simple answer to all these questions, and many more, is simply: Florida. It speaks for itself.
