Here is a video titled “95 Seconds of ’90s TV Nostalgia” that is … well, exactly that. It’s a minute and a half of short video clips from children’s and young adult shows from the ’90s all smushed together and set to the theme song from Step by Step. While they hit a lot of the biggies (Family Matters, Full House, Clarissa Explains It All, Rugrats, Double Dare, Rocko’s Modern Life, Ren & Stimpy, etc.), this compilation gets a D+ from me for failing to include clips from ANY of the following shows: Saved by the Bell, GUTS, Boy Meets World,
and Kenan & Kel. Completely unacceptable Who knows a lot about ’90s TV shows? DG knows a lot about ’90s TV shows. Is it true? Ohyesohyesohyes it’s true-oo. I do I do I do I do-oo. (UPDATE: Kenan & Kel is at the 0:32 mark. The grade has been changed to a C.)
Other than those glaring omissions, the one thing that jumped out at me from this video is that I apparently still know all the words to the Step by Step theme song, which is an incredibly stupid thing to be wasting brain cells on. Do you remember the one episode of Married… With Children where Kelly went on a game show and they figured out that she could only keep a certain number of things in her brain at a time, so whenever she learned a new fact it ended up pushing an old one out? I feel like that’s probably true, but for some reason my brain has locked the Step by Step theme song away in some highly secured vault with laser censors guarding it, and the only way a new, important fact would be able to replace it is if the new one hires Catherine Zeta Jones to dip beneath them all sexy-like to get it out.
In this analogy, facts are Sean Connery. I am good at analogies.
