End Of A Spray-Tanned Era: ‘Jersey Shore’ Is Done After Upcoming Season

Once the go-to punchline for any and every crappy TV show joke, the national embarrassment known as MTV’s Jersey Shore has fallen behind such cultural skidmarks as Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, that other TLC show, and that third TLC show. So, MTV has decided it’s time to throw in the Ed Hardy towel, and today they announced next season of Jersey Shore, its sixth, will also be its last.

The last run of Jersey Shore premieres Oct. 4, with production already completed. The network will start saying goodbye with a retrospective special, Gym, Tan, Look Back, ahead of the Sept. 6 MTV Video Music Awards. The cast will also be in attendance to promote the run. (Via)

And now the lovable miscreants known as Snooki, JWoww, the Situation, Pauly D, and Sweetheart will retreat to a quiet, dignified existence, where they can finally finish reading John Updike’s Rabbit series and complete that 98,000 piece puzzle they’ve been working on for five years. But we’ll never forget you, Snooki Punch.

Still gratifying after all these years.
