The Weekend Preview: Unleash The Michonne

The Walking Dead (AMC, Sunday 9 p.m.) — I cannot tell you how excited I am that The Walking Dead has transformed itself from the best hate-watch show on television to the one currently on the air that I most look forward to. How they top the first few episodes of the season, I have no idea. But I will say this: It’s time to unleash Michonne. She’s a great character, but they really haven’t taken much advantage of her yet.

Homeland (Showtime, Sunday 10 p.m.) — Yes, at this point, I like The Walking Dead even more than Emmy winner for Best Drama, Homeland. Of course, Brody’s daughter is kind of becoming the Carl of Homeland.

Dexter (Showtime, Sunday 9 p.m.) — I haven’t talked about Dexter in a few weeks, but — on the subject of shows that have jumped the shark … againDexter has taken a wrong left turn into the bizarre after a solid start to the season. SPOILERS: Here’s a GIF of the final scene of last week.

Boardwalk Empire (HBO, Sunday 9 p.m.) — I have been writing a lot about Boardwalk Empire over on Pajiba, and despite a few missteps, I’m still enjoying the third season. If anything, it’s really good at dropping bombshells at the end of episodes.

Fringe (Fox, Friday 9 p.m.) — A creaky episode last week that would’ve made for — at best — good background noise, but that twist in the end could present some interesting developments for the rest of the series.

Family Guy (Fox, Sunday 9 p.m.) — To celebrate the 200th episode of Family Guy, Seth MacFarlane will make 200 gay jokes in the one-hour episode.
