An Actor From 'The Wire' May Be Joining 'The Walking Dead' Cast

SPOILER: it’s not Maggie or Glenn.

SPOILER FOR THOSE WHO AREN’T CAUGHT UP WITH THE WALKING DEAD: you’re watching Finding Bigfoot, too? I hope they never find Bigfoot. The show would totally jump the shark.

SPOILER FOR THOSE WHO ARE CAUGHT UP WITH THE WALKING DEAD: many people have died since midway through season two, including T-Dog and T-Dog’s driving skills, and despite the addition of Woodbury, The Walking Dead is going to need to replenish the ranks and add some new castmembers. According to EW, they may have a character from the comics in mind. Spoilers, er, SPOILERS FOR THOSE, etc. below:

In an interview with EW.com Kirkman stated the December 2 fall finale of the AMC drama will feature a new character straight from The Walking Dead comic.

“There’s a new character added,” Kirkman told EW. “A big deal fan favorite from the comic book is introduced into the show in this episode, so be on the lookout for that.”

EW speculates that it might be Tyreese, a fan-favorite character from early in the comic series — and Kirkman could neither confirm nor deny.

“I don’t know, man!” he said. “I don’t know. I got no clue!” (Via)

Don’t play cute with us, Kirkman. EW‘s speculation is based on the fact that Chad Coleman, who played boxing instructor Cutty on The Wire, has been “spotted around the show’s Atlanta filming area.” So that’s how casting works? I wish The Walking Dead had been on in 1999 — John Rocker would have owned the Merle role.
