‘Veep’ Ratings News And Episode 1 Deleted Scenes (And The Morning Links)

HBO’s Veep is honest to God so good that the scenes they leave on the cutting room floor are better than 90 percent of the scenes in other half-hour comedies. There’s two videos of deleted scenes from the second-season premiere of Veep, the first heavily featuring our man Reid Scott, who plays Dan Egan, and the second (after the links) featuring Matt Walsh, who shows Vice President Meyers how to “own” a smile. And if you’re curious, ratings for the second-season premiere were decent. They were down a notch from the series premiere last year, but better than the ratings for all of last year’s other episodes. The 1.2 million viewers were more than every single episode of Girls in its second season.
