What’s On Tonight: Put A Lid On The Penny Can For 2013

Ready for Love (NBC, 9:01) — Hey, remember that song from the Plain White Ts called “Hey There Delilah.” Well, now the lead singer is one of the bachelors in this match-making show. If you’re wondering, 6 years is the answer to: How long does it take to go from singing a #1 song on Billboard to being one of three contestants in a second-rate Bachelor rip-off on a fourth-rate network.

Cougar Town (TBS, 10 p.m.) — Season Finale. I have to give credit to Cougar Town. After a somewhat slow start compared to earlier seasons, the sitcom — under new leadership — found its groove late in the season on TBS (save for the Target product placement). Tonight, in the two-part season finale, the cul-de-sac crew heads to Hollywood, and Travis and Laurie consummate their relationship. Or kiss. Something like that.

New Girl (Fox, 9 p.m.) — I liked what they were doing with Nick and Jess for a few episodes, but it kind of went off the rails on last Thursday night’s episode. Tonight, there’s a bachelorette party for CeCe, which hopefully means no more Nick/Jess drama and more Schmidt/CeCe drama.

The Mindy Project (Fox, 9:30 p.m.) — It took a lot longer than I expected, but The Mindy Project is also finding its footing. It’s not a great show, but last Thursday’s prostitute episode was pretty fantastic.

Splash (ABC, 8 p.m.) — Tonight, they do flips. (*pulls gun out, sticks in mouth, pulls trigger*)

Golden Girls (TVLand, 8 p.m.) — Don’t miss this episode. It’s the one where Stan envisions a big payoff when Sophia gets beaned at a baseball game, and Blanche blows every man over 50 in the Miami Metro area.

LATE NIGHT LISTINGS: Lindsay Lohan is on Letterman; Rebel Wilson and Hanson are on Leno; Jimmy Kimmel has Rosario Dawson (*drool*); Drew Carey is on Ferguson (woah); Adam Scott is on Fallon; Jimmy Carter is on The Daily Show; and Matthew Perry does Conan.
