Weekend Preview: The Return Of ‘Breaking Bad.’ Finally.

Breaking Bad (AMC, Sunday 9 p.m.) — You have no idea how long I’ve been waiting to finally include the premiere of Breaking Bad on the Weekend Preview. For the last nine months, our relationship with Breaking Bad has been nothing but talk and talk and talk and talk and FINALLY, we get some action. Sunday night, we’re going to crush some Breaking Bad tail.

Low Winter Sun (AMC, Sunday 10 p.m.) — The new series has not been getting stellar reviews so far, but honestly, anything AMC put in this time slot would likely suffer by comparison.

Dexter (Showtime, Sunday 9 p.m.) — That the final season of Dexter has felt like a bad dream is only going to feel worse after watching it on the same night as Breaking Bad. I mean, comparing it to the rest of the summer fare was hard enough, but comparing Dexter Morgan and Walter White? It’s just not fair.

Newsroom (HBO, Sunday 10 p.m.) — I hope Aaron Sorkin can improve upon last week’s bad episode, but the name Trayvon Martin doesn’t exactly inspire confidence.

Comedy Bang! Bang! (IFC, Friday 10 p.m.) — Zoe Saldana is on tonight. Is she funny? Can she be funny? I’ve never seen her be funny. That could be interesting.

Strike Back (Cinemax, Friday 10 p.m.) — THIRD SEASON PREMIERE. Never seen it, but those who watch it, swear by it.

Clear History (HBO, Saturday 9 p.m.) — Larry David and Jon Hamm’s HBO movie premieres this weekend. Reviews have been mixed, with most suggesting that it’s funny, but not necessarily a good movie. You can, however, still enjoy a brief history of Larry David’s hair.
