Breaking Bad (AMC, Sunday 9 p.m.) — Sunday night is the stuff of DVR nightmares, but the one show that absolutely positively must be watched live is Breaking Bad. To prepare you for Sunday night, here’s the 20 things you’ll miss most about the series, here’s how viewers predict the ending, a list of every time Walter White broke bad, a theory that the series will end in the bleakest possible way, and predictions from a bunch of television writers (including myself) about how the finale will go down.

Homeland (Showtime, Sunday 9 p.m.) — Season three of Homeland kicks off opposite Breaking Bad, and while it may be Damian Lewis’ final season on the show, it is no reason to watch it instead of Breaking Bad. Catch up on Monday. Or, and I don’t encourage this, but I do understand the premiere is already available online via less than ethical means.

Masters of Sex (Showtime, Sunday 10 p.m.) — Critics are already calling Masters of Sex the best new series of the fall, and luckily, you can watch the pilot online (legally) today or tomorrow, so you don’t have to worry about any BB conflicts on Sunday night.

Boardwalk Empire (HBO, Sunday 9 p.m.) — You do still have Boardwalk Empire, which has been renewed for a fifth season, to contend with, and things are getting very fun (and by that, I mean murderous) with Jeffery Wright’s new character.

Eastbound and Down/Hello Ladies! (HBO, Sunday 10 p.m.) — There’s also the final season premiere for Danny McBride’s comedy, and Stephen Merchant’s new series, Hello Ladies!.

Sunday Night Football (NBC, Sunday 8:20) — Thank God, this is not a must-see matchup, unless you’re fans of New England and Atlanta.

Bob’s Burgers (Fox, Sunday 8:30) — Fourth season premiere. Now this is just mean. You couldn’t hold this for one more week, Fox? Bastards.

Low Winter Sun (AMC, Sunday 11:15) — Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.

Saturday Night Live (NBC, Saturday 11:30) — If you were hoping to get to bed early on Saturday night so you could prepare yourself for a long night of Sunday night television, forget about it. Tina Fey is hosting the season premiere, and with all the new cast changes over the summer, this is a must see, too.
