Futurama (Comedy Central, 10:00 p.m.) – Series finale. Again. Josh gave this show a proper eulogy earlier today, so I think the prudent thing to do here is for me to just link to that and raise a glass. Cheers. I’ll miss you the most, Bender.
It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia (FXX, 10:00 p.m.) – Season premiere. The gang returns for a ninth season, now on a fancy new network. We are a better and stronger society when Frank Reynolds’s hair is in our lives. I have a scientist right here who can attest to that. Isn’t that right, scientist? [turns to scientist, scientist is a dog wearing a lab coat]]
The League (FXX, 10:30 p.m.) – Holy Hell, I want that Rafi/Dirty Randy episode in my eyes IMMEDIATELY.
Luther (BBC America, 9:00 p.m.) – Night two of the four-night event. From TV Guide: “News of another murder has Luther comparing unsolved case files, and he orders Ripley to investigate the murder of the Internet tormentor alone.” If anyone needs me, I’ll be getting “The Internet Tormentor” emblazoned on the hood of my car.
The Bridge (FX, 10:00 p.m.) – I do not want to get my throat slit in the bathroom during my own party. I don’t care what you guys have heard.
LATE NIGHT GUESTS: Bill Hader and Richard Simmons on Kimmel; Tim Robbins and Herm Edwards on Letterman; Elijah Wood and Brie Larson on Ferguson; Christina Applegate and Rob Corddry on Leno; Heidi Klum and Cory Booker on Fallon; and Mike Tyson and Katie Aselton on Conan.
