‘Community’ Has A Return Date, ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ The Post-Super Bowl Time Slot

On the surface, Community and Brooklyn Nine-Nine have nothing in common. Below the surface, though…they still don’t have anything in common. But I’m combining two stories about the shows into one post because very good network sitcoms are a rare breed, and they need to mate and make beautiful Andre Brie babies.

NBC announced Friday that Community will launch its fifth season on Thursday, Jan. 2, with back-to-back episodes starting at 8/7c. The following week, the Greendale gang will settle into their Thursday lead-off spot followed by Parks and Recreation (moving to 8:30/7:30c). (Via)

And:

Fox has picked up another nine episodes of Tuesday comedy Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Brooklyn has also scored TV’s biggest promotional opportunity: a post-Super Bowl slot.

Brooklyn will join New Girl in a one-hour special comedy block airing after the big game. (New Girl was previously announced, and is still currently expected to air first.) (Via)

“I’m very excited for this news,” Andre Braugher commented with a frown. No one can read that guy.
