As we’ve noted many, many times, last night was the Game of Thrones episode of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia (i.e. written by Game of Thrones creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss). As Glenn Howerton noted on Twitter yesterday, it’s the first time anyone outside of the real life Gang has pulled off such a feat. And man did they pull it off.

Charlie Day utilization? Check. Pop culture nostalgia usage? Check. Juxtaposing The Gang to a contributing segment of society? Check. Perfectly executed misdirection? Double check.

FXX even worked in the Archer “Danger Zone” promo. Just a banner evening for the show and the new network. “Flowers for Charlie” is currently neck in neck with “The Gang Desperately Tries to Win an Award” for best of Season 9 thus far. Let’s relive the Sunniest moments…
