Amy Poehler, Rob Lowe, Jon Glaser Singing ‘Summer Nights’ From ‘Grease’ Is EVERYTHING

Is “Summer Nights” the most recognizable song from a movie ever? (OK, technically, it originates from a Broadway musical, but whatever, boo live theater.) By that I mean, if you were to step into a bar anywhere in America, whether in Alaska or Arkansas, and cued up the Grease track on karaoke, what percent of the patrons would start singing along with you? It’s got to be over 90%, right? That puts it near, if not above, “Over the Rainbow” or “Moon River” or “I Will Always Love You”; its only real competition is “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life,” and even then…

Anyway, I’m stalling because I want it to be tonight because tonight is when Leslie and Jamm sing a gender-flipped “Summer Nights,” with some help from Chris, on Parks and Recreation, but it’s not tonight yet, which is a damn shame. Tell me more, tell me more, like why isn’t Amy Poehler always wearing leather, singing songs to us?
