Weekend Preview: Team Rick? Or Team Carol?

The Walking Dead (AMC, Sunday 9 p.m.) — I have been loving the last two slower, character-building episodes, but I think I’ve had enough for now. MORE ZOMBIES. As for the Team Rick or Team Carol question? Whoever kills the most walkers this weekend is whose team I’m on.

Masters of Sex (Showtime, Sunday 10 p.m.) — I am loving Masters of Sex, but I worry that they’re burning through Masters and Johnson’s real life too quickly. It doesn’t help that Showtime has ordered the writers to plan for more seasons than the four they had originally planned. Sometimes I think that Showtime’s TV executives are the worst.

Homeland (Showtime, Sunday 9 p.m.) — To wit: Showtime made Homeland keep Nicholas Brody, and yet, Brody has been on only one episode this season. I hear that the original series, Prisoners of War — two seasons and 24 episodes — is everything that Homeland isn’t. If you live in Canada, they are marathoning it this weekend.

The Good Wife (CBS, Sunday 9:30 p.m.) — Meanwhile, a MUCH better rivalry right now is TEAM WILL or TEAM ALICIA, and The Good Wife is doing an amazing job of presenting them both as very sympathetic and as very evil. I’m leaning Team Will, though, because of Diane. WHERE’S HER GIF WALL, UPROXX? HUH?

Raising Hope (Fox, NEXT FRIDAY) — Just a programming reminder, because I forgot to add it last week: Fox pushed back the premiere of Raising Hope from last Friday until next Friday, the 15th.

Bob’s Burgers (Fox, Sunday 8:30 p.m.) — You ever marathon a series and absolutely love it, and then don’t find it as fun to watch in real-time? I watched the first three seasons of Bob’s over the summer and adored it, but it doesn’t feel the same watching it on a weekly basis, squeezing it in before The Walking Dead and NFL. It’s best enjoyed on an iPad before bed.

Sunday Night Football (NBC, Sunday 8:20 p.m.) — Dallas Cowboys vs. New Orleans Saints. I’m rooting against the Cowboys because I’m an American, and rooting against Tony Romo is on our birth right, but I want the Saints to win because when they don’t, Cajun Boy makes us recap TLC reality shows and he doesn’t even publish them.

Eastbound and Down (HBO, Sunday 10 p.m.) — Still not caught up, but I’m hearing it’s a fantastic final season.

Boardwalk Empire (HBO, Sunday 9 p.m.) — The best, and most fitting line in Josh’s recap last week? “MY NAME IS NELSON VAN ALDEN. NOW WE F*CK.” Perfect.
