Chris Farley would be 50-years-old today if he was still alive. I remember coming down for breakfast in December of 1997 and being told by my mom that my favorite SNL star had died. It was a feeling of utter sadness, knowing that this talented man would no longer be able to share his gift of laughter.
We’ve all seen the “Matt Foley” and “Chippendale’s” sketches dozens of times, but he appeared in so many more hilarious SNL sketches that never quite blew up like some of the others. To celebrate what would have been the 50th birthday of the powerhouse comedy talent that was Chris Farely, I’ve lined up five of his lesser-seen sketches.

“Hidden Camera Freak Out”
A man goes berserk over the deception of the coffee being served to him; the sketch idea is completely absurd and there was nobody better suited for the freak out than Farley.
“Picking-Up Chicks”
I believe this is from one of Tom Arnold’s two SNL hosting gigs in 1992, but not entirely 100 percent sure about that. Either way, Chris is incredibly funny as an improviser trying to pick-up girls at the mall with such surefire tactics like, peeling an orange.
“Let The Boy Direct A Film”
Chris revisits the SNL “Herlihy Boy” sketch that he used to do with Adam Sandler, only with this time he’s trying to help Gavin Grazer (brother of producer Brian Grazer) direct a film.
“Opening Day At Yankee Stadium”
Mayor Rudy Giuliani’s son, Andrew, was notorious in the 90s for throwing tantrums and acting like a rich brat at Yankee games. Some Chiclet teeth and Chris makes a perfect Andrew Giuliani who’s face makes a perfect magnet for fly balls.

One of the standout sketches from Chris’ hosting gig with The Mighty Mighty Bosstones in 1997. Chis nails the Hank Williams Jr. impression, and I prefer to believe the recording of the Monday Night Football jingle played out exactly this way.
