TNT Announces That It Will Not Be Returning To ‘Mob City’ Anytime Soon

Frank Darabont is having a rough go of it in the television world lately. First he was forced out of The Walking Dead, leaving bad blood and nasty quotes all over the entertainment press. Now his follow up project, Mob City, has been canceled by the fine folks at TNT. From /Film:

Mob City was created as a three-week television event and we are incredibly proud of the six hours we presented of this remarkable drama. Although the ratings of the limited series haven’t warranted more hours we are eager to work with Frank Darabont again and were delighted to bring the vibrant world of Mob City to life.

Mob City sort of arrived a pitiful time in the schedule in early December. Not to mention that critics weren’t kind to it, leaving audiences little choice. So it’s not really a shock that TNT gave it the boot.

Maybe Darabont can go back to the well and bring one of the Stephen King stories he owns to life . The Long Walk would be nice on the screen, even if some already believe The Walking Dead is ripping it off. Hell, I think it’d be great to see a true adaptation of The Running Man too. I love the Arnie version, but the Bachman story is pretty cool in it’s own right.
