Whatever you want to say about The Amazing Spider-man — and I think it’s decidedly okay — Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone are absolutely amazing in it. The new films compare favorably to the Sam Raimi franchise, save for one thing: Sam Raimi already did it. But he didn’t have Garfield and Stone, who have enough chemistry to start their own lab. Garfield’s charisma is on full display here, as he trots out his American accent, delivers the promo in a super dramatic way, and takes sh*t from Bobby Moynihan about how much better his girlfriend Emma Stone was at Saturday Night Live than Garfield will be.
