Michael McKean Is Joining The Cast Of AMC’s ‘Better Call Saul’

Word is that Michael McKean is signed on to co-star in Better Call Saul over at AMC, joining Bob Odenkirk, Jonathan Banks and rumors of Aaron Paul. Just don’t expect to see Dean Norris pop up.

You most likely know McKean from This Is Spinal Tap and pretty much every Christopher Guest project ever created, so this news is quite pleasing. From Deadline:

The prequel to the Emmy-winning Breaking Bad, from Sony TV, centers on Odenkirk‘s unflappable criminal lawyer Saul Goodman before he became Walter White’s lawyer. Banks reprises his role as Saul’s trusted private investigator/fixer Michael “Mike” Ehrmantraut. McKean will play a new character, Dr. Thurber, a brilliant attorney who is now restricted by an unusual affliction.

Is that unusual affliction related to spontaneous combustion? I guess we will just have to tune in and find out in the fall. Too bad there is nothing good on TV until then.
