I like Hannibal a lot, and I thought last week’s season finale was terrific. It was also brutal, and the series itself may be the grimmest, darkest show on TV. It’s a very serious show, sometimes to its detriment, and there’s not a lot of comic relief. I mean, the funniest thing that happened in season two — SPOILERS — was seeing Michael Pitt’s Mason Verger eat his own face END SPOILERS. It was also the grossest thing that happened this season.
This eight-minute gag reel offers a necessary reminder that at least the actors behind the characters occasionally feel moments of happiness, and while laughter doesn’t exist on the show, at least it does in between takes.
