Craig Ferguson Has Already Found His Next Gig

Craig Ferguson’s surely-spectacular final show as host of The Late Late Show is happening sometime this December, but he won’t be unemployed for very long. Variety reports that Ferguson has all but officially signed up to “host a daily syndicated half-hour talkshow that would air in the 7 p.m. hour across Tribune Broadcasting’s 42 stations.” Don’t worry, Geoff is coming, too.

The show is targeted to bow in fall 2015. It’s expected that Michael Naidus, exec producer of The Late Late Show, will be on board as showrunner, which will blend comedy and talkshow elements. The intent is to rev up the hour leading into primetime with the Ferguson yakker paired at 7:30 p.m. with a prime sitcom rerun, a la Two and a Half Men or The Big Bang Theory.

Good for Fergie Ferguson, but I wish he was doing something different, like touring the world in an Oi! punk band with Geoff. Or relaxing for a bit in New Orleans. I hear he’s got a place down there.
