My favorite British survivalist and forever crush Bear Grylls appeared on a recent episode of the BBC’s Piers Morgan’s Life Stories and recounted the story of how he proposed to his wife Shara Knight — which occurred while they were both skinny dipping in the ocean. But where on earth did he place the ring, surely you conjecture? Well, if the vaya-nya is “nature’s pocket,” then let’s just say he kept it in, I dunno, nature’s alcove?
“I pulled out the ring from my butt cheeks,” he recalled. “She was standing there going, ‘What are you doing?’ She was in a towel and a massive Atlantic roller came and I went, ‘Will you…’ — and it went — took me up to the beach.”
“I had all the seaweed and I was spinning around,” he related. “So I tried it again and in this sort of moment of heavy sedation she said yes.”
I know what you’re thinking, and NO, this doesn’t do anything to dissipate my crush on Bear Grylls. In fact, my husband also proposed to me on a beach, and now I feel kind of cheated by the whole thing because he was wearing swim trunks and had the ring in his pocket, of all places. I guess what I’m saying is … DO OVER. DO OVER.
