The 1988 Crystal Light Aerobic Championship is one of the great treasures of the Internet. The actual video — and I can’t possibly stress strongly enough to you that it is real — is posted below, but you’ve probably also seen variations of it chopped up or mashed up here and there in your years of web-based adventures. It’s really something.

It’s also pretty much designed to be parodied, what with all the synth-y 80s dance music and spandex and choreographed bouncing, and Key & Peele went ahead and delivered on that last night. Hoo boy, this is dark. And funny. And, maybe most impressively, accurate, too, as they went out and got the real music from the original for the sketch. It’s the little things, people. The attention to detail. That’s how you do it.
