What’s On Tonight: ‘Benched’ And ‘Ground Floor,’ Two Comedies You Should Be Watching

Benched (USA, 10:00 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.) — Back to back episodes of Benched means Christmas has come a bit early for all the Eliza Coupe fans out there (which should be everyone on the planet). The first round of the comedy show sees the D.A. prove he’s the ultimate asshat by trying to pass laws targeting the city’s homeless. (Sound familiar, Florida?) The follow-up episode is a lesson in dating. Basically, don’t do it. It sucks.

Ground Floor (TBS, 10:00 p.m.) — The TBS show starring that guy from Pitch Perfect is the other comedy series you should be paying attention to. Brody’s in the poor house so he downsizes his life and moves in with Jenny. Piece of advice to any guy out there in a similar situation: if you find yourself homeless, crash with your bros, not your girlfriend. That sh*t never ends well.

One Direction: The TV Special (NBC, 8:00 p.m.) — Unless you’re a hormonal screaming teenage girl (or that’s girl’s unlucky dad who gets pulled to every concert), you probably don’t care about the One Direction TV Special on NBC. There’s really nothing else on though, so if you’re tired of Tim Allen and his Santa Clause shtick, why not tune in to see the evolution of hair styles, deep v-neck t-shirts and butterfly tattoos of one of the most annoying boy bands in the world? I feel like some kind of drinking game could come out of this.

Moonshiners (DSC, 8:00 p.m.) — Moonshine is apparently still illegal so the guys build an underground bunker, but Chico and Tyler are becoming increasingly suspicious of their friend Tickle. I’m assuming Tickle is some kind of code name and anyone who chooses to be called Tickle is definitely not to be trusted.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills (Bravo, 9:00 p.m.) — Another show you might not tune into regularly but one that is surprisingly enlightening (and by enlightening I mean I never knew people could be this filthy rich and still act so stupid). On this episode, Yolanda and Eileen bond over their children (maybe one of Eileen’s kids has also just been arrested for a DUI) and the ladies have a barbecue.

The Real World: Skeletons (MTV, 10:00 p.m.) — Dark secrets arise and a relationship is in jeopardy. (Because living in a house with a group of attractive strangers, tons of alcohol and cameras everywhere just screams stability and commitment.)

Ink Master (Spike, 10:00 p.m.) — Artists “Tatu Baby,” “Sausage,” Jime Litwalk and James Vaughn create Christmas tattoos and compete for a shot at $10,000. While I’m definitely curious as to how sausage got his nickname, I’d never let him tattoo me. Just saying.

LATE NIGHT GUESTS: Marisa Tomei on Kimmel; Jerry Seinfeld and One Direction on Fallon; and Conan, Letterman and Meyers are repeats this week.
