The first episode of Saturday Night Live‘s 40th season gave us Marvel’s Star-Lord (aka Chris Pratt: Dinosaur Hunter) as host, and now Thor is going to grace Studio 8H with his presence when reigning Sexiest Man Alive Chris Hemsworth hosts on March 7th. The Zac Brown Band and their accompanying beards are set to appear as musical guests.

This doesn’t just mark Hemsworth’s first time on the show, it’s also his first real attempt at comedy — save for the lighter moments in the first Thor movie — so here’s hoping that sh*t gets weird. SNL returns this Saturday from a long break spent trying to talk Eddie Murphy into Bill Cosby-shaming and recovering from #SNL40 hangovers. That episode will be hosted by Fifty Shades of Grey star Dakota Johnson who just survived a week of being pitched three dozen BDSM sketches.
No offense to these bright-eyed newbies, but where the hell is that Bill Murray hosted episode that was rumored earlier this year? The Jaws love theme only made me ache for it more. Also, can we get some fresh Jon Hamm at some point this season, please?
