As you’re probably aware by now, Conan O’Brien took his show to Cuba, having been the first to do so since the U.S. began the process of normalizing relations with the country back in December. The special is set to air next week on March 4, so Conan stopped by The Daily Show last night to chat with Jon Stewart about his trip.

I’m not sure how widely known this is, but they don’t have the internet in Cuba. Like, at all. When Conan and his crew arrived, their phones were dead and there was some miscommunication regarding papers (probably due to the fact that Americans hadn’t been allowed to Cuba for over 50 years prior), and they were banned entry to the country.

Can you imagine how terrifying that must be? At any rate, because Conan is obviously not in a Cuban holding cell somewhere, they worked everything out, and the rest of the trip was all cigars, rum, and dancing. Can’t wait for the show.
