Paul McCartney’s Drummer And Other Unsung Heroes Of #SNL40

Last night’s SNL 40th Anniversary Show has come and gone. And while we’ve already touched on pretty much all the high points of #SNL40, these three three unsung heroes may have been overlooked:

Ad-Rock

Red carpets are always full of interviewers asking redundant questions that celebrities give redundant answers to. Not enough of them have Beastie Boys in purple skullies wandering around like they’re in a museum and staring into cameras.

The Loud Thump from the “Californians” Sketch

While the big heroes already have their own post, they took about nine minutes to get there. Thanks to you, loud thump, for trying to bring some levity to this SNL sketch.

Drummer Abe Laboriel, Jr.

The longtime drummer for McCartney displayed plenty of enthusiasm during his set, and he also managed to quickly recover from a broken drumstick.
