Earlier this month, we learned the pilot of Greg Berlanti’s Supergirl for CBS was going to feature Lumberjack as Kara’s first baddie, but the same report featured a rumor that the heroine’s famous cousin, Superman, would be appearing in the series. Now, thanks to a new casting report, those rumors seem truer than ever.
“As pointed out by KryptonSite by way of ProjectCasting.com, Supergirl is seeking someone “5-foot-11 or taller,” “square-jawed” and wielding “a ripped physique” to serve as a body double for “a DC Comic Superhero.” (via TV Line)
The report went on to add:
Lest there be any doubt, interested parties are asked to email their application using the subject line “SUPERMAN.” (via TV Line)
So it appears Superman will be appearing in the series, but since this is just for a body double, odds are the hero’s appearance will just come in flashes of news footage or off in the distance battles. Either way, it’s nice to have the clearest indication yet of Supergirl’s inclusion of source material lore.
