The Man With The Horn-Rimmed Glasses Is Back In The New ‘Heroes Reborn’ Teaser

In between the really sad and borderline morbid commercials that aired during Super Bowl XLIX yesterday, NBC set aside some time for ads that showcased its brand new series, including One Big Happy and The Slap. And while Zachary Quinto has traded in the ability to usurp the powers of gifted humans for a trial about a dude who slapped someone’s kid, NBC is still catering to our geek interests by bringing back the series that made him a star, Heroes. A 13-episode miniseries entitled Heroes Reborn will debut later this year, and NBC offered us a sample last night by revealing Noah Bennet, AKA The Man with the Horn Rimmed Glasses, in the above teaser. Joining him is Chuck star Zachary Levi, and there’s apparently another character that could make a killing as the lights technician at EDM.

While the plot remains a mystery – other than the existence of humans with extraordinary powers that could destroy us all – NBC’s description of the series sounds like a bit of a mea culpa for the way the series ran off the rails after the first season.

The saga behind the 2006 breakout series “Heroes” will continue as creator Tim Kring returns to the fold and develops new layers to his original superhero concept.

This highly anticipated 13-episode miniseries will reconnect with the basic elements of the show’s first season, where ordinary people wake up to the fact that they have extraordinary abilities.

Original cast member Jack Coleman will reprise his role as HRG, and Zachary Levi (of NBC’s “Chuck” and the Marvel franchise “Thor”) will join the cast as well.

Sounds promising enough. At least NBC didn’t call it Law & Order: Super Powers Unit. Although, we should probably keep our fingers crossed that Jack Donaghy didn’t have a say in the development…
