Until recently, it was a little known fact that Adam Sandler was unceremoniously fired (while also sort of quitting) from Saturday Night Live along with Chris Farley in 1995. As is often the case in these situations, the decision was ultimately for the best, as Sandler went on to do bigger and better things, but he was understandably bitter about it.

When NBC asked him to appear on Late Night with Conan O’Brien shortly after the firing, he had an unusual and — at the time — somewhat pricey request, as he told Conan last night. Laugh it up, anyone born after 1990. Back then, only the coolest dudes owned their own fax machines.
