TIL: Pete Davidson’s father was a New York City firefighter who died on September 11, 2001. Oddly enough, I learned that from his opening routine at the Comedy Central Roast of Justin Bieber, and Saturday Night Live’s youngest cast member was absolutely brutal and hilarious with his jokes on tonight’s broadcast. I won’t even bother to recap this specific joke, because Davidson’s execution was simply perfect, but to use his own father’s death to transition into not one but two hilarious jokes is comedic artistry.

Seriously, Comedy Central should show Davidson’s routine to every comic before roasts from here on out, like required reading in a college course on making people piss their pants.
