With the ever-growing popularity of HBO’s Game of Thrones, countless bits of brilliant and strange merchandising opportunities have been taken advantage of. I’m quite fond of the Game of Thrones beer, myself. Alas, with all the blood that’s been shed on the show, one of the weirder items has been released to help sooth the saddest soul: the “Hug Buddy.”

The folks at Empire magazine apparently received one of these in the mail, confirming two things:
1. A Game of Thrones “Hug Buddy” is actually a thing.
2. A Game of Thrones “Hug Buddy” is actually a very sad thing.
Just imagine the first-hand experience of carrying around Jon Snow’s headless half torso for hugs whenever the need hits. Thanks, internet. I’m very sad now.
