Remember that episode of Friends when Rachel tried her hand at domesticity and made everyone a “traditional English trifle,” consisting of custard, jam, lady fingers, beef, and peas? And it went over exactly as anyone would have expected? Here’s the clip from the episode when everyone tried it:

Doesn’t seem like something anyone in their right mind would want to make in real life, right? Welcome to the internet, where someone like that was destined to surface. In this case, Twitter user Neil Killham was the lovely volunteer, and he posted some photographic proof of the whole sordid process on his account:

Here’s the aftermath:

The trifle was tasted, and fortunately, it didn’t taste like feet, as Ross famously proclaimed. But it wasn’t good. Not good at all.

Ultimately, the trifle found its final resting place:

People did actually eat this disaster and try to give it the benefit of the doubt.

But I think we can officially declare Rachel’s trifle a dish that’s best served never. Our hat is off to the brave souls who sacrificed their taste buds for this journey into fictional culinary madness.
