Ed Sheeran Really Wants To Be An Extra On ‘Game Of Thrones’

Love or hate his catchy, easy-listenin’ music, Ed Sheeran seems like a pretty nice and harmless bro. If he’s good enough to be locked away in Taylor Swift’s friend zone, then he’s probably unlikely to end up being one of these young celebrities that is driven to Skid Row at all hours of the morning to score God-knows-what to inject into his eyeballs. Or maybe he will and he’s just the best in show business at hiding his demons from the rest of us. Basically, the dude looks like Chris Pratt’s annoying kid brother and that makes him all right with us.

But is he cool enough to fulfill his ultimate show business ambition: appearing on an episode of Game of Thrones? That’s up in the air. Sure, the HBO series has already had Snow Patrol’s Gary Lightbody and Coldplay drummer Will Champion on the show, but do we need to make this a regular thing? Sheeran states his case:

“There were talks ages ago of me being an extra, which could have been cool. But every time they shoot it’s the time I tour in the UK,” he told The Sun, via Metro. “But I’ve got that time off this year, so I’m going to hound them.”

And Sheeran is now very much prepared should he end up making that cameo. Earlier this month he was gifted with a GoT sword just like Jon Snow’s from the series. (Via Billboard)

Well, if he has a sword, then I’m going to go ahead and sign off that he should die a hilariously grizzly death if he does land a role. However, I couldn’t pick the Snow Patrol or Coldplay guys out of a police lineup, but Sheeran is so recognizable that it would be distracting. The solution? Make him a Minotaur. Beats the hell out of drum boy here:
