HBO Did The Obvious Thing And Renewed ‘Veep’ And ‘Silicon Valley’

HBO isn’t making Sunday night TV scheduling any easier on us, but that’s a very good problem. Just one day after this week’s premieres of Veep and Silicon Valley, HBO has announced they were renewing both series for their fifth and third seasons respectively. According to an official press release, the network also reminded us of their other returning shows:

Along with Game of Thrones and Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, both of which have already been renewed for 2016, they give HBO a stellar Sunday night like no other.

Yet the next season of Veep will be bittersweet, since it will be the first without creator Armando Iannucci as showrunner. Sunday nights just wouldn’t be the same without vicious Jonah shutdowns and surprisingly complicated and perverse sexual metaphors from Erlich Bachmann. We’re happy to welcome the profanity back next year.
