Larry Wilmore Decided To ‘Keep It 100’ While Defending Trevor Noah On ‘CBS This Morning’

Larry Wilmore was a guest on Friday’s episode of CBS This Morning. Many topics were discussed, from Walter Cronkite to his obsession with golf, but when the topic of Trevor Noah taking over The Daily Show came up, Wilmore stated a clear defense for the young South African comedian:

Because people don’t know him, you have to try to paint a picture of him, so people are using whatever they had. But I think once he’s doing the show, I think some of those things will go away.

When further pressed to “keep it 100”, Wilmore said this:

“Let’s be clear, a young Jon Stewart would have had trouble following the present-day Jon Stewart.”

It’s worth noting, many had issues with Jon Stewart coming on as replacement host when Craig Kilborn left The Daily Show back in 1997. But who knows, Trevor Noah could totally suck. Let’s just wait and find out, shall we?
