Megan Mullally, Rob Corddry, And Tig Notaro Played ‘Musical Chers’ As Cher On ‘The Late Late Show’

Playing party games with celebrities is Jimmy Fallon’s bread and butter, but James Corden doubled down by adding a crucial element to a simple game of musical chairs last night on The Late Late Show: Cher impersonators.

Dressed up as “If I Could Turn Back Time” Cher — sans tush-revealing sheer stocking-pants — host James Corden brought out Megan Mullally, Tig Notaro, Rob Corddry, a contemporary (and masterful) Cher impersonator, and an ’80s Cher impersonator. Sadly, there was no “Take Me Home” Cher complete with bronze Heimdall-esque headgear.

I don’t want to spoil the results for those of you who have yet to press play on the clip, but after watching “Musical Chers,” I have three observations:

1. James Corden is super competitive.
2. Reggie Watts’ “I am Cher! These are chairs!” Cher song is the best Cher-associated jam since “Believe.”
3. Megan Mullally is a super polite lady who believes that it’s appropriate to shake someone’s hand after sitting on their lap.
