What’s On Tonight: ‘Louie’ Returns And Billy Crystal’s ‘The Comedians’ Makes Its Debut

Louie
(FX, 10:30 p.m.) — Louie goes out of his way to participate in a pot luck dinner in the season premiere of television’s foremost not always very funny but always clever comedy with ample dramatic elements and a searing and relatable worldview. Which, if you think about it, really should be its own category at the Emmy awards.

The Comedians (FX, 10:00 p.m.) — Billy Crystal and Josh Gad play versions of themselves that are in the process of making a show for FX. Come for the hilarity, stay for the faint hope that they might do a live read of a scene from Monsters University with Gad standing in for John Goodman.

The Big Bang Theory (CBS, 8:00 p.m.) — Wil Wheaton and Kevin Smith guest star as Sheldon and Amy bicker within the blanket fort that they built, and Leonard and Penny fight while on Wil Wheaton’s podcast.

The Odd Couple (CBS, 8:30 p.m.) — Felix freaks out when Oscar dates his doctor.

Grey’s Anatomy (ABC, 9:00 p.m.) — Meredith doesn’t take news of Amelia’s and Owen’s relationship particularly well.

Mom (CBS, 9:00 p.m.) — Bonnie continues to spiral after her back injury, unbeknownst to Christy.

Somebody’s Gotta Do It (CNN, 9:00 p.m.) — Sorta Dirty Jobs returns for its second season of adventure as Mike Rowe looks into the exciting profession of bull fighting. Somebody’s gotta do it? Do they, though? Bull’s just minding his own business…

LATE NIGHT GUESTS: Madonna and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau on Fallon; Taraji P. Henson, Carice van Houten, and Keith Alberstadt on Meyers; and Amy Schumer, Kenny Smith (basketball man), and Joe Zimmerman on Conan.
