This week’s Mad Men focused on Joan and Don each facing harsh realities with their desires. Also, there was a funny painting, but we should probably hit the desires thing first.
All Joan wanted was a little respect and not to be taken as a sexual object. That didn’t happen at McCann.
She let Jim Hobart know. He was none too receptive.
Despite Richard’s perfectly reasonable suggestion…
Joan gave up half her money to be let out of the contract early. Not a happy time.
Meanwhile, Don traveled to Racine, WI, on a whim to get back with Di. Also to talk to Bert.
After seeing through his lies, Di’s ex-husband told Don what we’ve all been yelling at the screen for a while now.
Roger and Peggy said goodbye to the Time/Life building by playing the organ and skating while drunk, respectively.
Leading to Peggy walking into McCann in a better mood.
Oh, and Roger gave Peggy some of Cooper’s 150 year old tentacle porn. Nope, not weird at all.
