Throughout much of last night’s SNL, host Reese Witherspoon played comically over-the-top characters, whether as a horny lifeguard, theatre actor with green and pink stripes in her hair, or a farting cougar (America gets two Legally Blondes, but not single Farting Cougar movie?). But her role in “Inner White Girl,” this week’s pretty good sketch that got cut for time in favor whatever the hell “Southern Ladies” was, starts off small. She’s the commonplace Caucasian who talks not-white Leslie Jones down whenever she gets upset.
But Reese snaps when she hears every white person’s least favorite word: “wait.”
