That Conspiracy Theory About Jon Snow Being Doomed On ‘Game Of Thrones’ Might Be Very, Very Wrong

Rejoice, fans of Jon Snow! That fan theory about his appearance without his trademark hair may not be so true, after all. Don’t read further if you don’t want spoilers, but Kit Harington just dropped a couple of bombshells about Snow’s future.

The spoilers are coming now. Don’t get mad at me if you can’t stop yourself.

So here’s what’s up: Kit Harington has confirmed several times that he’s not allowed to cut his hair while he’s playing Snow on Game of Thrones. And then he showed up to a premiere with his hair styled differently and fans knew—just knew—that Jon Snow was going to die (which isn’t a horrible guess, because everyone on this show dies).

Fortunately, Harington has cleared up these rumors in a new interview with Nylon, where he’s admitted that his hair at that premiere wasn’t an indicator of anything except his commitment to method acting.

When pictures surfaced of you for this part, everyone on the internet (which is where I live)…
Everyone on the internet? Literally everyone?

Yes. Literally everyone on the internet freaked out and was like, “Kit Harington is unrecognizable! Look at him!” Do you ever just want to shave your head?
That was a wig! I couldn’t cut my hair. Part of being an actor is going into a role and looking a certain way. I’m doing this ongoing role and I have to go about looking that way and that’s what I just look like right now. Whenever Thrones finishes and the next role comes up, I’ll change.

Here he is just days ago:

So, basically Jon Snow might live on for a while yet. Or he might not. Literally no one knows at this point and Kit Harington could continue messing with us forever because wig technology is really good these days. Watch him actually do a shaved head (thanks for giving him the idea, Nylon!) just to mess with fans. (I actually wonder how many celebrities do that—mess with fans for fun.) Glad we cleared all that up, Internet!
