The New Season Of ‘Agent Carter’ Will Draw Inspiration From The Black Dahlia Murder Case

It’s been known for a while now that the new season of Agent Carter will have an intriguing change as the story will move from New York to 1940s Hollywood. With their presence at this week’s San Diego Comic-Con, the cast and crew of the series gave more insight on what to expect with the new episodes. Set roughly six months after the events that transpired in the season one finale, the story finds Peggy heading to Los Angeles to help solve a murder.

The new season will take place in 1947 and showrunners Tara Butters and Michelle Fazekas made note of the year’s significance by pointing to the infamous Black Dahlia murder as inspiration for the show’s new storyline. While they will be referencing the real life murder of aspiring actress Elizabeth Short, Butters and Fazekas made it clear they have no plans to introduce any famous people from the time period. However, the showrunners are super thrilled to explore “really iconic Los Angeles places.”

You know, like Rockstar’s L.A. Noire did a few years back….

Accompanying Peggy on her relocation is Jarvis (James D’arcy), as he will already be in Los Angeles setting up Howard Stark’s Beverly Hills estate. And since Howard Stark is no longer on the lam, it looks like he’s making the next logical step of opening his own movie studio in the City of Angels, because of course!

Season 2 of Agent Carter will premiere on ABC in January of 2016.
