Here’s A New Look At The ‘Sherlock’ Christmas Special Set In Victorian England

This time last year, the BBC finally revealed that its popular Sherlock series starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman would return December 2015 for a Christmas Special. A few months later, showrunner Steven Moffat admitted that the one-off episode wouldn’t necessarily fall within the first three series’ chronology, but would instead take place in Victorian England. Sure. Okay. Whatever. GIVE US MORE SHERLOCK.

The BBC has finally heard your clarion calls, because it just released the first official promotional image of Cumberbatch and Freeman in period costume as their respective characters, Sherlock Holmes and John Watson.
