The Wayward Pines finale aired on Thursday night and with it came another brief teaser for Fox’s highly anticipated six episode revival of Chris Carter’s The X-Files. The clip may only be 17 seconds long but that’s plenty of time to set the internet on fire as we can finally see Mulder and Scully back together once again, talking about…something.
Previous bits of footage have surfaced over the past few weeks which has led to all sorts of conspiracy theory themed speculation. Along with these new X-Files clips, fresh casting announcements have also been released, the most recent of which being Robbie Amell (The Flash) and Lauren Ambrose (Six Feet Under) as FBI Agents Miller and Einstein. Oh and I’d be remiss to not mention the triumphant return of The Lone Gunmen!
To maintain the hype, Fox started conducting an event on July 7th they’re calling “201 Days.” The concept is simple: chronologically watch an episode a day — with the motive of finishing the entire original series — before The X-Files revival debuts on January 24th, 2016.
