Andy Samberg Talks Dirty In The First Promo For The ‘ 67th Emmy Awards’

SNL alumnus and Emmy-winner Andy Samberg is getting ready to host this year’s Primetime Emmy Awards, and by the looks of the first official promo, things are going to get a bit… dirty. The Brooklyn Nine-Nine star took it upon himself to remind viewers of the seven words you can’t say on TV (R.I.P. George Carlin) and, in an intriguing turn of events, introduced the world to the seven words that sound dirty that you CAN say.

Samberg proceeds to get very textual with words like corkscrew, shuttlecock, dictaphone, and kumquat. The pièce de résistance? It’s “but.” Oh, what a difference a T makes.

So what else is there to expect from his upcoming hosting gig? Here’s hoping his Lonely Island buddies will show up. I mean, after last year’s performance at the Oscars, how could they not?! They have a freakin’ movie to promote, people!

When it was announced back in March that Samberg would be hosing the Emmys, the actor released this statement:

“Buckle your seat belts, Emmy viewers!,” said Samberg. “Like, in general you should buckle your seat belts in your car. In fact, even if you’re not an Emmy viewer, you should buckle your seat belt. It can be dangerous on the road. Also, if you’re not an Emmy viewer, you should strongly consider becoming one this year, because I’m hosting, and it’s gonna be a wild ride. So buckle your seat belts.”

The 67th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards will air on Sunday, September 20th on Fox.
