NBC Is Searching For A New Host For ‘Celebrity Apprentice’

Donald Trump and NBC are officially on the outs. In June, the network announced their decision to cut ties with the Republican Candidate. Deadline was in attendance at the network’s TCA panel on Thursday, where NBC chairman Bob Greenblatt announced an official delay on Celebrity Apprentice as they search for a new host to take Trump’s place:

Before taking questions from reporters, Greenblatt had announced that, “due to circumstances everyone here is aware of regarding the host … we will not be producing a new edition” of Celebrity Apprentice for this season,” but it will be back for the 2016-17 season “with a new host.” They’ve been overwhelmed with candidates to take Trump’s place as host of the show, but some of the names that have been cited in the press as likely replacements “simply are not true,” he added.  As soon as NBC and producer Mark Burnett settle on someone, “we will get word out and something tells me that will be big news,” Greenblatt forecast.

Greenblatt further stated the prerequisite for the replacement host is someone “who is going to make noise and has a big personality.”

Back in June, NBC released an official statement ending their business relationship with Trump after he made those controversial remarks about Mexican immigrants. Regarding their broken partnership, Greenblatt simply stated, “For now we’re sort of separated.”
